R02 Remastered 1/144 HG Duel Gundam Assault Shroud - Part 4

Remaster 1/144 HG Duel Gundam

The Remastered 1/144 HG Duel Gundam Assault Shroud is a really good kit for the age of the mold.  There's so much going on with this kit I think it will be best if I split the review between the Duel and the Assault Shroud.  So here is the review of Duel Gundam.  Assault Shroud review will come soon.

ARTICULATION

Kneeling

Photobucket
Pretty good kneeling pose; although, I think Strike's was a bit more natural looking.
Duel's thighs are a little short, I think.

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Head can go up a little and not very far down.

Photobucket
Head can rotate 360 degrees.

Photobucket
Arms can rotate at the shoulders all the way around.

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Elbows bend 90 degrees.  The blue armor bit can swivel up.

Photobucket
Which allows the arm to raise up almost 90 degrees.

Photobucket
Here it is!  The most EPIC waist articulation you've ever seen!

PhotobucketPhotobucket
It can rotate from left to right a total of... what... 8 degrees?

PhotobucketPhotobucket
The leg rotates forward really high and backward even higher.

Photobucket
Pretty decent bend out of the knee. 120 degrees?

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Left is the widest the legs will go, right is the widest flat footed stance possible.

ACCESSORIES
Photobucket
The shield

Photobucket
Attaches at the back of the arm and has two attachment points.

PhotobucketPhotobucket
The shield can be mounted on the back of the arm...

Photobucket
... yay... so cool...  I don't understand mounting a shield on the back of a Gunpla's arm unless it can bend at the elbow nearly 180...  It just never looks right.

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Much better mounted on the side of the arm.

BAMF

PhotobucketPhotobucket
The beam rifle just slips into the hand and you don't even have to take the hand apart.

The Duel and reach it's beam saber pretty well.

Photobucket
And...

Photobucket
Duel comes with Beam Saber BLADES!

Photobucket
CLEAR BLADES!

That's it for Duel Gundam for now.  Assault Shroud will make a showing in the next posting.

Until Next Time:  Happy Building!

  1. I'm curious: did Duel NOT come with beam blades before? It's been so long since I had any of the SEED HG's that I don't remember if Strike had 'em...
Anyway, lookin' forward to the Assault Shroud. Get the ol' blood stirin' for the upcoming MG.

  2. I have the original release. Duel did comes with clear blades. I remember it clearly since I broke the connecting peg in of them.

  3. Yeah Duel came with them, Strike didn't. You can check the runners at Dalong.net.

What I'm curious about is the connection for an action base. http://joesgunpla.blogspot.com/2012/01/r02-remastered-1144-hg-duel-gundam.html

Scroll all the way down on that post. Is the hip joint retooled/modded? Or was that slot there on the original?
