R02 Remastered 1/144 HG Duel Gundam Assault Shroud - Part 1

Box and Runners

I'm very excited for this build.  The pilot, Yzak, was one of my least favorite characters the first time I watched Gundam SEED.  For some strange reason, his dedication to the military and his relentless need for revenge on Kira was somehow different in the second viewing.  I grew to understand the character and then I grew to like the Gundam he would pilot through the entirety of the series.  The Duel Gundam, later upgraded with the Assault Shroud, was at first the most simple of the 5 Gundams created for the Federation military.  It's armament was simply a beam rifle with a grenade launcher, two beam sabers, and the vulcan cannons on it's head.  No transformation, no fancy add on packs, no BFGs, no cloaking device, there was nothing special about this Gundam...  until Zaft upgraded it.

I'm considering purchasing a second kit to display without the A.S.

Right end of the box, the other end is the same but is covered by American choking hazard labels.

Unpainted kit and it talks about the attachment point for Action Base 2 and the new stickers.

Advertising for three other kits in the new Remastered line and this model retails for 1200 Yen.

More Runners

And a manual!  Where's my Gundam!?!  Haha... just kidding... :-D

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Again, I can't make the photos turn, so there you have it...

Inside of the manual with ost of splash art/photos.

A Runner

The yellow is kind of golden orangey, again the grey is gunmetal with metallic flakes.  I LOVE the little rivet holes on the palm of the hand.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

BEAM SABER BLADES!  Why didn't Strike come with these?  The feet and shield are the same as Strikes, but for color.

Photobucket

B plate.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Shield is the same as Strike's, again, some paint is needed for the shoulders

Photobucket

The face mask and eyes are molded onto the head.

Photobucket

Guns! C Plate.

Photobucket

One of my favorite rifle designs for some strange reason.  I am a little disappointed this plate isn't in gunmetal...

Photobucket

The Assault Shroud!  D Plate

PhotobucketPhotobucket

The second picture is more representative of the plastic's color.  Gonna need paint.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Lots and LOTS of paint.

Photobucket

HUGE AMOUNTS OF PAINT!

Photobucket

Poly-caps

Photobucket

Stickers

Photobucket

Foil - useless to me...

Photobucket

Marking seals.  I like these!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

I don't have the original, is anyone does let me know:  Does the original hip joint have this recess in it?

PhotobucketPhotobucket

That's where the connection is for the Action Base 2.

Pieces and Parts tomorrow!

Until Next Time:  Happy Building!
