Gyan Final

The MG Gyan was my first venture into LED work, no matter how basic and easy it was.  I had fun building this kit and it was nice to finally have a 1/100 scale version of the Gyan, one of my favorite MS designs.  I might add more photos with some inner frame work showing, but for now just the exterior.

Here is Sir Gyan, Knight of Zeon!

There they are those gold vents in the chest.  And M'Quve ready to take a beating from the Gundam.

The shoulders are so plain!  But here you can see the gold accent painted on the joint.

Beam Sword IGNITE!

Unfortunately, one way or another that Zeon insignia is going to be upside-down... Unless you take off the face plate of the shield and flip it each time you change the position of the shield.

Smoke affect parts for the shield.  The smoke can attach at any point on the shield.

Zimmond did such a good job on the Gyan, too bad Zeonic's Gelgoog won out.

Deployed Hide Bombs.  These are kind of useless unless you figure out how to display them...

Gyan was a great build!  Very happy to add him to my collection.  On with the Gundam Wing Project for the next few postings.

It's a long one, but well worth a full watch.  Mokanaman explains some of his tips for those wishing to enter competitions and 2Old4Toys makes some great commentary as well.  There is a lot of good information given and you also get to see some VERY awesome work!  The Union Jack on the Z'Gock!  Oh my God!  I love it, I love it, I love it!

Again great job to EVERYONE who entered, I know I had fun with my entry and I hope everyone else had fun as well, that's the point of a friendly modeling competition like this one.

I think I'll go for a bit more of a serious entry next time I enter.  I missed the discussion about this competition being brought on by the world cup and things like that.  I guess I heard "G Gundam" and ran with it!  I'll pay closer attention next time :-P.

MG Gyan Part 4

I've Got My Mono-eye On You!

Painting on the internal frame and some details here and there.  Starting with the mono-eye, the trademark of Zeon MS!  I actually took some time to paint parts of the inner frame and I'm really happy with one part in particular.

Here are the two pieces for the mono-eye.

I painted the end of the peg silver.

Then painted the clear piece with clear red.

Gundam Marker for a different tone of grey on the backpack.

Added some gold and silver details.

Painted the blocks on the palms for contrast.

Decided later to go back and paint the wrist joint too.

These are the under grating of the chest vents.  I have no idea what made me want to paint them gold, but they turned out AWESOME!  You'll see that on the completed kit later.
