1/144 HG Nataku Part 2

Old Piece of Junk, You Turned Out to be Treasure!

I have built all of the HG 1/144 EW kits in the past.  My Nataku is now lost somewhere, either buried and in pieces in my parent's garage or (most likely) in a trash heap somewhere.  But for one reason or another, I saved this:

The extensions for the Dragon Fang!

Here's the sad sad truth...

Photobucket

When I first started building Gunpla...

Photobucket

I used to... oh I can't bare to say it!

I used to... to...  I used to just break the parts off the runners!  No clipping with nippers, no trimming with a blade; NO, just twist and pull until the parts came off the runners!  Never mind the jagged nubs!  I just wanted to build the kit so I would have a cool action figure to play with.  Sad, sad past.

Anywho!

Photobucket

Bag one contains the feet, Dragon Fang fangs, extensions, chest piece, crotch and the V-fin.  Oh and those foil stickers.

Photobucket

Bag two has all the green parts for the head, chest, hips, arms, and Dragon Fang.

Photobucket

Flip the bag over and we have all of the white pieces and the poly caps.

Photobucket

GAH!  FLASH!  I hope there isn't any of this on the kit, Bandai!

Photobucket

Oh Bandai... what ever will we do with you and your hands molded to weapons all in the wrong color...

Photobucket

Mmmm, multi-colored goodness...  *Drroooolll*

Photobucket

This poly-cap set I am very familiar with after seeing it about a dozen times or so having built each of the 1/144 EW kits at least twice (Sandrock and Heavy Arms 3 times for sure).  Those hands disgust me, but my little brother and I had so many of them that we started chopping up the open hand and modifying the fists to be flipping the bird...  I don't think I have any of those left though.  Has it been 10 years already?

Photobucket

*Looks at foil stickers* ...  *toss*

Photobucket

Guh!?  Holy Plasti-Cap Batman!  They're imposters!

No worries Robin!  To the Batcave!

Photobucket

Kids, this isn't half of the poly-cap hoard I have!  I'm working on dividing them up by individual types.  These are the un-sorted.

Photobucket

Bingo...

Photobucket

Another job well done, thanks to HOARDING!

Just so you all know now... those poly-caps, the real ones, don't fit where the plastic ones go.  They are for the side skirt armors and they are way too loose.  No amount of glue or plasti-tak would hold them either.  Oh well.

1/144 HG Nataku Part 1

Back to posting a bit more regularly, I hope.  I am on a pretty set schedule as far as work goes and my fiance and I are moved in and pretty comfortable in our new place.  I'll have pictures up soon of the new work area in my office, but for now I'd like to finish up last year's unfinished postings of the Final Model-A-Month.

As you'll remember, I showed all of you this picture:

Photobucket

1/144 HG Nataku from Endless Waltz.  I have a feeling I'm going to be on quite the Gundam Wing/Endless Waltz kick this year... can't imagine why... ^_^

Photobucket

A look at the sides of the box:  Nataku done up nicely by the Bandai folks.

Photobucket

Some cool action poses.

Photobucket

All of the models of the series.  It was good to see that all of the releases got both a 1/144 and a 1/100 scale release for Endless Waltz.

Photobucket

A look inside the box reveals a surprising amount of parts for a kit from the Wing series in this scale... at least as far as I had been used to after the Gundam Wing Project ~_^

Photobucket

The red and yellow parts from Runner A are all for the Dragon Fang weapons (save the V-fin).  The green parts should have been two toned for the Dragon Fang, but this being a 1/144 HG I can forgive that.

Photobucket

Just three runners for this model and then the manual.

Photobucket

The back of the manual with more action poses from the box and the coloring guide.

Photobucket

Front of the manual.

Photobucket

A time line of events in the OVA.

Photobucket

Wufei goes crazy and joins the bad guys.

Photobucket

At the edge of the atmosphere, Wufei and Heero fight and waste a bunch of time... DRAMATICALLY! And they try to decide what is right and wrong.

In the end, Wufei blows his Gundam up like the others, but not before he had given Heero's Wing Zero a good woopin'.

The parts and such in the next posting... maybe this week... prolly next Tuesday.

Until Next Time:  Happy Building!

Very quick update.

My fiance is building her new MG ReZEL that came today.  I told her I don't really like the design, and there are a few very odd things about it.  She asks for specifics and I point out the crotch.

Melissa:  What?  It has a giant penis thing?

Me:  It has... a giant... fucking... penis!

Melissa:  Hmm.  I'd hit that.

I spit out my coffee.

Almost have my new hobby room set up!

First step was to get my closet all shelved and sorted out.

Top shelf: unbuilt kits.  Middle Shelf: Built MG kits.  Bottom Shelf:  Others

Keep in mind all of the built boxes have multiple kits in them.  For example, the MG Real Type G-Armor has Real Type G-Armor, RX-78-2 version 1.5, OYW Anime Colors, 2.0 and I think my Guncannon...

Still quite a bit to do but I'll have a nice set up soon.

1/144 Gundam Wing Project Part 6: Final Installment

I started this project so long ago.  Moving is a pain in the rear.  I'm sure Buster knows this as much, if not more than I do!  Anyway, real internet means I can finally post pictures and such!

Here's a re-cap of the project:

Intro
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5a - Deathscythe
Part 5b - Heavy Arms
Part 5c - Sandrock
Part 5d - Shenlong

And here they are, the five Gundams from Gundam Wing united at last:

I had a lot of fun with these builds. I did not paint the pilot figures for these guys as I did with Heero. I will have to come back to those someday. Up next is Nataku's picture set. Stay tuned for that!

I'm back!

It's been a long time coming.  And I am so very far behind again.  I've been in the middle of a large moving project for a bit and have not had a real internet connection.

I'll be posting regularly again soon.  Hopefully, I'll have the Nataku posts up by the end of next week.  Right now, my fiance and I are trying to get our new apartment together.  The good news is that we have gone from living out of a single room in a three bedroom apartment with 2 guys and one of their girlfriends to leasing a two bedroom apartment for just ourselves and my Gunpla!  (That's how she put it)  We're going to make the 2nd room into an office/work room.  I can't wait to get my new work space all set up and get building again.

Until Next Time:  Happy Building!

The beam blades on this are VERY poorly painted, I know.  I will be repainting them with a new technique I developed for the HG Nataku.  Pictures of that coming soon.
